Bloody Elbow - "As for the quality of the DVD's themselves, I give them a solid thumbs up...Most importantly, the video quality is very well done. The DVD cover claims it was shot in 1080i and it shows with rich colors and bright lighting in a widescreen format. During sections on ground fighting, we get a split-screen with two different angles on the technique. This significantly reduces time spent having to show the technique from multiple angles."
FightTicker.com - "...The chapters on the DVDs are all efficiently organized by technique, so if you want to concentrate on one technique you could just rewind or fast forward by chapter without worrying about missing something. The main menu has a sub menu that allows you to sort through everything by chapter/technique, so if you are looking for one specific technique, you can easily find it. Additionally, after watching one of these individual techniques, viewers are presented with the option of either watching the technique again or moving on to the next technique...."
Sherdog Mixed Martial Arts Forum - "...The door bell rings. It's the mail man, and he means business! So he hands me a package, and when I see the address, I have to admit, it was like Christmas. opening it with a fervor that I rarely approach anything with, I see it. Lyoto Machida has a new DVD series, and it's in my hands! Lets get started...so far I'm very impressed with the production quality...I’ve watched this whole series now and I can’t say enough good things, I really enjoyed it..."
Amazon.com User Reviews - "I have bought just about every MMA dvd out there, and this one is by far the best. Unlike many DVDs, the techniques and footwork Lyoto shares are the ones he actually uses in his fights. Funny, I bought this DVD before his fight with Rashad Evans, and I saw him use the exact techniques that he showed on the DVDs. To top it off, the DVDs were done in high definition, have multiple camera angles, and they very high production quality. A must for anyone who wants to improve their game."
...The quality of the box set is great, video quality is awesome. Plenty of angles and replays to make sure the technique is captured on film. In addition, on the ground fighting DVD, the techniques have overhead angles on a split screen with the side angles. I've never seen this on any other instructional DVD's. It makes a huge difference, you catch so much more info when you're able to look down on the fighters as they work on the ground. All in all I think this is a great instructional set on one of the most unique fighters in the game today."
