Franchesca Vargas, Development Vice President
Franchesca Vargas’s passion for the film industry caught the attention of Mana Storm Productions, LLC, who brought her on as their Development Vice President. Her hands on approach, emphasis on details and personal care enhances each project for the company.
During her education at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Franchesca worked with a prominent producer in the Bay Area as a staff line producer where she produced several foremost television commercial spots such as Nike, The Wall Street Journal, epinions.com, Lyons, U.S. West, Nissan and The Money Store for agencies as Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Geary, Coll & Young, Arnold, Ingalls & Moranville Advertising and Buckley & Karraker.
After graduation, Franchesca collaborated with a colleague to co-produce several music videos with award winner Director, Brandon Dickerson. Two of the videos for Grammy Award Winner Steven Curtis Chapman, When Love Takes You In, nominated at the American Music Awards and Live out Loud. Spinning Around was the third video, for an unknown teen group at the time called Jump5. The group has since signed with Disney and has now skyrocketed in sales and popularity.
Franchesca’s alma mater brought her back to the University to produce an array of promotional TV commercials that featured esteemed actress, Diane Baker (Silence of The Lambs, et al.). Dr. Elisa Stephens, President of the Academy of Art University, personally requested Franchesca to produce a music video for the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Still in a whirlwind, Franchesca was brought on as the Production Manger for Momentum Cinema on the Independent feature, Harrison Montgomery, starring Oscar Winner actor Martin Landau, Diane Baker and Melora Walters.
Franchesca’s latest project, Adina’s Deck: The Exclusive Detective Agency Specializing in Solving Cyber Bully Mysteries, a TV pilot geared towards 9 to 14 year-olds is anticipated to be a hit with the target audience.
Recently, Franchesca was requested by Co-Director Diane Baker of the Motion Pictures and Television/Acting Department at the Academy of Art University to be a mentor to MFA and undergraduate students in a filmmaking class that produced a short film, Alternatives.
Presently, Franchesca is active with Mana Storm Productions, LLC on their next feature film project as well as other projects in development.
